Challenge

Viessmann wanted an experience at ISH 2023 that went beyond showcasing technology — they aimed to make visitors feel part of a shared movement for positive change. The challenge was to merge interactive photography, instant image processing, and large-scale media displays into a seamless, brand-driven installation that could handle high visitor flow while staying visually coherent.

Facts
  • 6 cameras, 6 iPads, 14 PCs, 1 photo printer — all synchronized to create a seamless real-time visual pipeline.
  • Display network: 3 satellite LEDs, a 6 × 4 m floor LED, and a massive 42 m × 3 m main LED banner.
  • Personal engagement: every visitor received a printed or digital postcard of their stylized portrait as a branded keepsake.

Idea

The concept turned visitors into co-creators. Six photo stations captured portraits that were instantly stylized and integrated into the booth’s massive LED displays — including a 42 m-wide banner and an animated floor screen. Each guest became part of a collective digital “family,” embodying the brand’s message through their own image.

Solution

A custom real-time system processed each photo, removed backgrounds, applied filters, and distributed the results across multiple synchronized displays.

The setup — six cameras, iPads, and fourteen PCs — ensured instant projection and smooth interaction. Visitors could also take home a printed or digital postcard, turning a brief encounter into a personal, memorable brand connection.
