Three virtual worlds for three automobile worlds
For the presentation of Volkswagen's GTI, SUV and I.D. series, we created digital sceneries to accompany speakers and cars.
To support the speeches on one of the most important motor shows for Volkswagen, we created virtual studio backgrounds that made the press conference look like a digital television set.
Iconic shapes that conveyed the character of each of the cars were 'hanging' from the ceiling and continued on in the LED screens behind the speakers.
Additionally, each speech included specific features that could only be shown digitally: The workings of a motor, the range of an electric battery or the high quality of a new dashboard's materials.
For Volkswagen's new concept car, the fully electric SUV I.D. Crozz, we further developed an AR journey to explain its various properties.
Electric drive, clean air control and automated driving are not easily explained by speech and still images alone. With augmented reality though, we can explain these features more easily and accurately and thus, give the spectator a better idea of the car of the future.
