JOINING FORCES TO MAKE GERMANY'S ENERGY FUTURE PROOF

German Pavilion

The theme of the 2017 World Exhibition EXPO in Astana, Kazakhstan was 'Future Energy'. Together with Tamschick, we designed and produced a memorable interactive experience for the visitor, that illustrated the importance of group effort on the way to better energy, for the grand finale of the german pavilion. The 'energy show' and the german pavilion earned multiple awards like Gold for Best Activity Interactive by the american EXHIBITOR Magazine.

Energy for a brighter future

On their way through the pavilion, visitors were encouraged to collect 'Energy Smart Points' on their 'smart sticks' - an RFID device that collected data from each exhibit the visitor interacted with. Each exhibit preserved information that the visitor could metaphorically gather in this manner.

At the end of the tour visitors came together around a spherical table where they placed their smart sticks and thus brought their gained knowledge into effect. The collected points were gathered and triggered an animation of energy, collectively created by all participants and their smart sticks.

The energy flow cumulated in the center of the table where it continued as laser beams that then resulted in hopeful images of a possible future.
